This is a handsome sterling napkin ring made by the New York City firm of Wood and Hughes around the turn of the century. Wood & Hughes is considered to be among the finest American firms producing sterling napkin rings during this period. Their hallmark is on the inside: "STERLING" and "W&H". The cartouche is monogrammed. The diameter is 1.75 inches, and the height is also 1.75 inches. The weight is 1.8 ounces, very heavy for a sterling napkin ring. It is in perfect condition. There is a handsome double border of stylized leaves banded by beading.
