This wonderful antique sterling napkin ring features beautifully designed cherubs with leafy tails, who almost appear to be in motion. These hybrid creatures seem to be holding the cartouche. In the cartouche is the single letter monogram, "M".The ring is finely crafted by the English silversmith, Thomas Hayes, whose maker's mark, as pictured, is T. H in a heart. As the anchor hallmark shows, it was made in Birmingham, England. The date letter, a lower case "f", indicates the year the napkin ring was made--1905. The ring is quite large and heavy with an opening of 1.75 inches, a width of 1.75 inches and a weight of 1.4 ounces on an accurate postal scale.
