This handsome antique napkin ring has a full set of English hallmarks: the sterling mark (lion), the city mark (crown for Sheffield), the date letter (i for 1901), and the maker's mark (HA for Harry Atkin). The diameter of the opening is 2 inches and the width is 1.75 inches. The unusually fine work on the reticulated or pierced borders makes this napkin ring exceptional. Also it is extremely heavy: 2.3 ounces on a postal scale. Most sterling rings are somewhere around an ounce or less.. The condition is outstanding.
