This wonderful American sterling mug depicts a medieval scene in a band all the way around . One of the principal images is of a group of hunters with spears and dogs attacking a wild animal. There is also a falconer and a noble lady on a horse. All of the material is greatly detailed in this band, which is just under 2 inches wide. The mug itself is 3.25 inches tall and the opening is 2.75 inches. There is a lovely gold wash inside and the initials MEF appear opposite the handle. On the bottom are the three standard marks for Gorham, the word Sterling, and the pattern number 3716. There is also a date letter for the year 1886. The mug is very heavy, weighing 6 ounces on a postal scale.
