This wonderful American sterling mug by Tiffany is often called the "Children's Parade." Around the piece are highly detailed images of children. In the first scene a horse-pulled cart decorated with garlands of flowers is filled with children holding flags. Subsequent scenes show children playing musical instruments, waving flags, and engaged in other playful activities. The scene is different all the way around and is a sight to behold. Tiffany made more than one version of this cup over the years because of its popularity. This is one of the earlier ones. The mark on the bottom shows that it was made between 1891 and 1902. The height is 3.25 inches and the diameter of the opening is 2.75 inches. The mug is very heavy with a weight of 7.5 ounces on a postal scale. This piece is a true work of the silversmith's art.
