The botanic Aesthetic designs around the entire body of both sugar and creamer makes this an outstanding quadruple plate set. There is a profusion of leaves of many varieties, as well as full blown blooms and buds. The backdrop for the design is a series of interlocing designs with a band of shell and scroll repousse at the top of the botanic section. These are double walled, heavy pieces. We have left the original patina though the pieces could be polished if desired. The opening of the sugar is 2.5 inches and 4.5 inches across at the handles. The height is 3.25 inches. The creamer opening is 2.25 inches and 4.75 inches across the spout and handle. The height is 3 inches. On the bottom of each piece is "Meriden B. Co." as well as "Quadruple Plate 860." The Meriden logo also appears. This set is from the Aesthetic Period 1870-1890.
