This striking antique majolica pitcher employs a pineapple motif. The yellow woven background simulates a pineapple skin to a great degree. An accompaniment to this design is a grouping of white flowers on each side which moves upward into a cobalt blue. It is not just the color and texture which recalls the pineapple motif but also the shape. This pitcher is more bulbous than most as the pictures show and as the dimensions reflect. The height of the pitcher is 7 inches. The diameter of the base is 3.75 inches but the pitcher expands out to a width of 7 inches. The distance from front to back (across the handle and spout) is 7.5 inches. There is damage to the left side of the spout as can be seen in a couple of the pictures. I see no other condition issues except that one. This is a most unusual shape for a majolica pitcher.
