This is a Griffen, Smith, and Hill Etruscan Shell & Seaweed majolica cream pitcher at 3 5/8" in diameter. the respected firm which made this cream pitcher was in business form 1880-1889 in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. With the handle the pitcher is 5" across. The height is 3 & 5/8 inches. The shell and seaweed pattern is beautifully carried out around the circumference of the pitcher. Shells in pink, green, grays, and browns alternate with seaweed sprays in greens with a touch of brown. The handle has a wonderful design of woven seaweed. The interior of the pitcher is a strong pink. On the bottom of the pitcher is the "GSH" trademark.. Around the trademark is "Etruscan Majolica." There is also a pattern, "E 26." The cream pitcher is in fine condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. This wonderful pitcher is a rare size in Etruscan Shell and Seaweed.
