Whiting introduced their sterling pattern Lily of the Valley in 1885. It was considered a beautiful pattern from the outset and has been sought after ever since. This piece has the original Whiting logo as well as the word "sterling." This beautiful small ladle is unlike any I have seen in 40 years of collecting. It has a 1.25 inch fully scalloped bowl with repousse lily of the valley in the bowl. The bowl is lightly as are many fine Lily of the Valley pieces. The handle has a delicate lily of the valley encased in its folded leaf. On the reverse is the name Bessie.
