Here is a fine plateau. It is a wonderfully large size:16 inches across the base and 13.5 inches across the mirrored top. It is very tall at 5.5 inches. There is some wear commensurate with age but the silverplate is very fine indeed. I could find no maker's mark. It is an American piece from the late nineteenth century. Displaying small items on this plateau is a perfect way to showcase a collection. It can also be an elegant base for a flower arrangement or centerpiece. It also beautifully showcases collections of smalls, such as miniatures, sterling or figural napkin rings, paper weights, etc.
