This lovely blue and white transferware plate dates to about 1825. It is 6.25 inches in diameter and has an edge nick at about the 9:00 position, although the nick appears to be glazed. There is also a tiny firing flaw. (See photo). The scene is Italian, much like Stubbs, but with a different border. This plate has a rich floral border and an idyllic pastoral scene. There is no maker's mark or pattern name, but it is quite characteristic of its period.
