This handsome brown and white transferware cup and saucer was made by the Staffordshire firm of Edge Malkin & Co. in the last quarter of the nineteenth century. There is a maker's symbol (identified as Edge Malkin)--a wonderful sitting dog symbol. The cup is especially charming because it has a design in the bottom of the cup. The saucer is 5.75 inches in diameter and stands 1.25 inches above the table. The cup is 4 inches in diameter and stands 2.25 inches above the table. Please examine the pictures for complete views.
