This charming English green and white bowl is 4.5 inches in diameter and the top stands 2.5 inches above the table. The pattern is Newburyport Green. The particular green in this bowl could be described as "emerald"--a lovely shade. The gilt band along the top rim is in fine condition, as is the bowl. The central design takes the form of a floral heraldic shield. Under the emerald band at the top of the bowl is a scalloped garland with what appear to be tiny tassels. On the bottom (see last picture) is the Copeland Spode mark along with the numbers B 17 and W 16. There is slight wear on the bottom from age as would be expected.
