Birmingham Silver Company, located in New York, looked to England for its company name. This cream pitcher, which is marked "Silver on Copper," used the same base metal as fine old English Sheffield plate. The creamer has a handsome footed design and a scrolled handle which adds height to the piece. A nice touch is the ridged design below the spout. We see a few gray spots in the bottom of the creamer, and there is a nick on the back edge of one side of the spout. The silver plate is in fine condition.
We like a beautifully shaped container like this for fresh flowers or for a single large lovely silk bloom. Fresh foliage is another possibility. The maximum height is 6 3/4"; the distance from handle to tip of spout is 6". The opening is 3". The creamer is heavy and very stable.
