Here is a rare pair of mixed metals covered bowls from 1889. They have a combination of silver and gold and were made by the prestigious English firm of Elkington. Each has a diameter of 6.75 inches and a height of 5 inches. The bowls are silverplate and the acorn finials are gilt. This is a stunning adornment to a handsome pair of covered bowls. There is detailed reticulated work as well as extensive ornamentation around the rims. Note that each bowl has three claw feet. There are monograms of intertwined initials on the top of each bowl. The acorn finials are different on each piece as are the monograms. There bowls have been well treated and are in outstanding condition. The name Elkington and Co. is written in full on the bottom of each piece. There are other marks as well. The marks determine that these bowls were made in the year 1889. This pair would make a stunning addition to a dining table. The bowl are shown separately in the first few pictures to show detail, but the listing is for the pair together.
