Here is a wonderful covered silver plate English bowl from 1889. It was made by the prestigious English firm of Elkington. This covered bowl has a gilded acorn finial. There is detailed reticulated work as well as extensive ornamentation around the rims. Note that the bowl has three claw feet. There is a monogram of intertwined initials on the top of the bowl. The bowl has been well treated and is in outstanding condition. The name "Elkington and Co". is written in full on the bottom. There are other marks as well. The marks determine that the bowl was made in the year 1889. This bowl would make a stunning addition to a dining table.
