4 nice items for your collection of vintage sewing and/or vintage advertising. There are 2, advertising needle books. One from Safeway supermarkets. Circa 1950, marked, "West Germany". It measures 3&1/4 inches in diameter. It's in very good condition, with a few needles left inside. The second, advertising piece was a promotion from the National Life and Accident Insurance Company. There are 2 needles inside a pack marked, "Made in Japan...Sharps". It, too, is in very good condition with some age yellowing. The oldest book is marked, "Germany". It dates to about 1900 and has images of Victorian women and children on the covers. As you can see in the photos, the covers are not attached to one another. I don't know if they ever were. There is a small tear on the bottom of of each side, but the color and graphics are very good. There are several needles of various sizes left inside. Also marked, "Silver Steel". I think this is a very rare piece. Lastly, is a set of buttons, mint on the original card, that dates to the 1920s. I would also think this would be difficult to find, especially in such great condition. There are 7, small, pink pearlized buttons. The card has excellent color picture, and states that these are, "Decorative Pearls for Lady and Kiddie Garments...Ladies and children". The card measures 4 inches tall by 2&1/2 wide. It has some corner and edge wear, but overall, very good.
