Great looking Chinese incense burner that is 5&1/2 inches tall. The mythical lion foo dog on the lid is suppressing the menacing dragon that forms the footed bowl. There are character marks on the bottom that I understand. I have done some research and have found nothing exactly like this. Most similar burners in designs and markings are dated from the 1880s-1900. Since I am not sure, I am pricing this one at a fraction of what the others are offered for. Note that this piece is smaller than most I found, that were 7-9 inches. It is in excellent, used condition, with a nice, even age patina on the outside. The inside has some green, verdigris, common with vintage brass items.
