The Stanley Toy Company was established in Oconto, Wisconsin in 1946. They made cast iron toys, mostly horse drawn wagons and carriages. They were only in business for 3 years. Fire destroyed most of the building, and all of the master plans and molds in 1949, and production ceased. This carriage, and two horse team, measures 11&1/2 inches long, by about 4 inches tall. The driver, and his fancy dressed lady passenger, are painted silver, and look unlike the rest of the toy, but are original, and most often missing. As you can see in the photos, this vintage toy was played with, and shows paint wear. It is all original, with no paint touch ups. Great toy that, because of such limited production, is very hard to find.
