I've had several of these vintage, tin and metal ashtrays/pin dishes over the years, but have never seen this one. Most are Black Americana, and a lesser variety of others. They were made with variations of the bases. As you can see in the photos, this piece shows paint wear, but is still highly detailed. The base is made of tin that is pressed with an Oriental rug, or Persian magic carpet design. It measures 4 inches wide by 3&1/4 deep. The small bowl is also made of tin, and measures 2 inches in diameter. It is about 3&1/4 inches tall, to the top of Mr. Pig's tophat. The head is held on by a stiff wire, as opposed to the newer style head bobbers and nodders that had a spring. This could use a cleaning, but I choose to leave my items in as found condition with the vintage patina. Most of these are marked, "Austria", but this one has no marks. Please see the photos for the best description of condition, and surface wear.
