Circa 1905, this lovely, vintage, composition doll, with socket, bisque head, is 8 inches tall. She has glass eyes, and an open mouth with front teeth. She is in very good condition, with the following exceptions....Her mohair wig needs to be reglued, and the paint is missing from the old glue on the back. She displays well on a stand, but could be restrung tighter, although is OK as is. She is wearing a thick, hand tied, "grass skirt", tapa cloth top, and double, crepe paper lei. Marked on the back of her head is, " Germany, SPBH, Hanna, 8/0". The SH (Schoenau & Hoffmesiter) and the company’s star logo, has PB inside the star. The PB stands for the doll maker, Porzellanfabrik and Burggrub. Her face is just lovely. A nice addition to your collection of vintage Hawaiiana, or antique dolls.
