Made by a member of the Washoe Indian Tribe of the Lake Tahoe region between California and Nevada, circa 1930s-40s. This is a medium size basket that measures 3&1/2 inches tall, and 9&1/4 inches in diameter across the top. It is a relatively simple pattern, but well done, and it is in excellent condition, having been properly cared for and stored over the years.
Recently, I attended an antiques auction at a reputable auction house that specializes, in part, in vintage and antique, Native American items and artifacts. Although my knowledge in this field is limited, I am using, in part, their trusted, abbreviated descriptions....
I currently have several pieces of vintage Native American pieces in my shop, including other baskets, jewelry and pottery. As always.....I am happy to combine shipping, when it is safe to do so. To see them all, type, "Indian" in the California Girls search box at the top of this page
If you are ordering more than 1 item from my shop, wait to pay until I send back an invoice with the combined shipping discount.
