Research shows me that this tool was made between 1851, and 1893. It measures 10&1/4 inches long and has a solid, wood handle. It's marked, "Ohio Tool Co.....Auburn, N.Y......773". I was unable to find anything about this exact tools, but believe it was used in concrete work. Possibly for smoothing, and scoring the lines in sidewalks etc.. I was able to find many antique planes and other tools made by this company, but am thinking this one must be much harder to find. I haven't cleaned it. There is light surface oxidation on the top of the metal that looks like it would clean up without much effort, but would take away the antique patina, and look. The wood handle shows surface wear, as you can see in the photos, but is solid. Great addition to your collection of vintage, or antique tools.
