For your consideration is the exceptionally large, and unusual, pink pig, porcelain figurine.. This is a single pig, in a HUGE shoe! The piece measures 2&1/2 inches tall by 7&1/4 inches long. There is a small ding on the pig's right ear, but the piece is otherwise perfect, including the sharp, fragile tips on the shoe. These were exported to the United States from Germany from the 1890s to about 1920, and often sold at train stations, and other tourist destinations, as souvenirs, often with the name of the town, or state. This one has no town stamp. They were also given away as prizes at local fairs, and thus the term, "Fairing". This one is not marked, "Germany", which dates it prior to 1903
I currently have other German, pink pigs, as well as other "fairing" animal figurines in my shop, and am happy to combine shipping. To see them all, type, "fairing" in the California Girls search box at the top of the page.
If you are ordering more than 1 item from my shop, wait to pay until I send back an invoice with the combined shipping discount.
