The nicest antique, celluloid dresser, or collar box that I have had the pleasure of owing! Not only does the curved lid have a most beautiful image of a young, Victorian woman, surrounded by raised, metal trim that flows into the metal latch, but it is in excellent condition. It shows very minor surface wear, and the latch and hinges are in perfect working order. The inside is lined in a hot, pink satin. The lining is clean, with no stains, but as you can see in the photos, there is minor fraying at the edge, and something was once glued to the center. The box is good size, measuring 6 inches tall, by 6&1/2 wide, by 7&1/2 inches deep. Circa 1880s-1890s.
I currently have several other vanity items in my shop, including powder boxes and jewelry boxes, and am happy to combine shipping. To see them all, type the word, "vanity", in the California Girls search box at the top of this page.
If you are ordering more than 1 item from my shop, wait to pay until I send back an invoice with the combined shipping discount.
