Pretty, antique, gold filled expandable bracelet that is marked, "Carmen", and "the DFB Company" on the inside of the band. The heart in the center is smooth for engraving, but there is no monogram. There are two loops on each side of the heart for the stretch bracelet to attach. One pin is missing one one side (see photo), but the other pin holds it securely. It comes in the original, white velvet lined cardboard box with a great image on the inside lid, and, ""The CARMEN Adjustable Bracelet Original Quality Patented May 20, 1890 Feb 5, 1901 Made Only By THE D.F. BRIGGS CO. Attelboro MASS". ". The velvet is a bit dingy, and the box shows some edge wear, but overall very good condition. Please note that this bracelet is SMALL. I know people were much smaller 100 years ago, but this may have been made with a younger lady in mind. I would consider it smaller than adult "small" size by today's standards. Getting it over your hand would be the trick, which may explain why the one pin is missing. Other than the missing pin, the bracelet is in excellent condition, with NO wear to the gold plating.
Please note that the photos are ENLARGED to show detail!
