Large size, well cared for wood glove, or handkerchief box with pyrography art of a lovely lady, and red tinted tulips on the lid top, with the matching image on the lid inside. As is common with these, the image on the lid is slightly faded and the mirrored image on the inside is stronger. The box is 13 inches long by 5 inches wide, by 1 inch deep, and has the two, original, perfectly working metal hinges. Making this antique box special, and personal, is the hand written note and contents inside. My favorite piece is the smooth, and perfectly made, "Pickle fork made of cedar by Grandfather Wm. Elsberry for his daughter Ethel". The note also mentions the crochet piece, and handkerchief, and their history. Listed on the note is a set of silver salt and pepper shakers that are NOT here. Circa 1900.
