Wonderful vintage toy that is all tin. It is NOT a wind up toy, but older. Made like the old penny toys, but larger. This measures 10 inches long, and is 3&1/2 at the tallest point. All 6 wheels are made of tin, and roll smoothly. They are the only parts that are unpainted, and there is light oxidation present. I've included several photos to best describe the condition. Note that the very tip of the horse's right ear is missing. The horse's roll along base is made from a piece of surplus, commercial tin that was intended for something else, and has printing on it. I understand this was common practice, for toy companies in European countries to use this scrap tin so it. Recycling way back then. Who knew? There are no marks to indicate maker, or country of origin. The style is distinctively German, early 1900s. I'm not sure about the printing on the bottom of the base.
I currently have several vintage tin toys, and toy vehicles in my shop, including Marx, Chein and Lupor, and am happy to combine shipping. To see them all, type "Tin toy" in the California Girls search box at the top of this page.
