Vintage 1950's-60, tin lithograph, wind up mechanical toy, "Western Hero", that was made in Japan by Mansei Toys Co.. Crisp, colorful lithograph on all sides of this rootin' tootin', six gun shootin' cowboy and his horse. When wound with the built in key, the horse gallops along, and the cowboy bounces up and down. This is larger than most tin wind up toys. The horse measures 8 inches long from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail. It's 7 inches tall to the top of the cowboy's attached hat. The hat is plastic, the reins are red cord, and the horse's ears are rubber. Everything else is tin. This toy is in excellent condition, and does not appear to have been played with, or displayed. There are a couple of small, light scratches, but my guess is that this is how it came new, as they are so minor. The colorful, original box is made of thin cardboard. It is clean and complete, but shows wear. One of the corners of the lid is taped. Super neat addition to your collection of vintage, action, or Western themed toys.
I have several vintage toys in my shop, including other tin lithographed toys, and key wind up toys, and am happy to combine shipping. To see them all, type, "toy", or, "tin toy" in the California Girls search box at the top of this page
