What a statement this spectacular wedding cake topper must have made back in the day! Not only is it large, and fancy, but it is a rotating music box! The music box winds on the bottom, and there is an on/off lever on the back of the base. It's not working, and as this is a fragile piece, I don't want to do too much tinkering with it. The happy couple is made of chalk, and they, alone, are 6&1/2 inches tall. They stand on an ornate base that is made from a sugar based food product, and backed with stiff netting for stability. Around them is a cloth covered, wire arch that is decorated with cloth leaves and flowers. The bride is wearing her long, original, lace veil, and there is flowing satin around the bottom of her gown. Under the satin, the chalk bride is wearing a sleek. 1930s-40s gown. It completely changes the look, if you were to remove the satin, and it could be easily done as it is tied on with string! The overall height is 11 inches. Overall, it is in very good/excellent condition. The painting on both sides of the groom's head, by his ears, is a little goofy, but that would have been when it was hand painted at the factory, or bakery. The wire spine on a few of the flowers have discolored on the back side.
