2-11-16 Great, vintage wooden toy that comes with the original wood paddle and cardboard advertisement. The back of the paddle, and the cardboard, both state that this was made by "Dancin' Dan Mfg. Co., of Farmer City, Illinois". The photos best describe the condition. Dan shows a little color variation on his body, but the glue applied paper face and tuxedo are in excellent condition. He is 11 inches tall, when standing, and has the original stick on his back. It is not removable. The paddle is 22.5 inches long. The "TAP HERE" is faded, but no damage. This comes with an original, thin cardboard advertisement that I think would have been sent to stores to display, rather than that each toy came with one, as it is attempting to sell the toy in the first place. It's 14 inches tall, and 5.5 inches wide. As you can see in the photos this card has tears below the cowgirl's knees. Pretty rough, but complete, and neat to have with the toy. If I were still collecting, I would shrink wrap this on a piece of stiffer board and display with the toy. I've had a few of these jigging/dancing toys over the years, and most have made of thicker wood, and were larger. None have had the great facial expression of this Dan!
I have several pieces of vintage Black Americana in my shop, and am happy to combine shipping and insurance on multiple purchases. To see them all, type "Black Americana" in the search box on the top of this page.
