Each one of these lovely miniatures is framed in a fancy, gold colored gilt, metal frame with a slightly convex (curved) glass front. Each has a metal plaque on the bottom. One reads, "Jean-Baptiste Greuze, 1725-1805", and is titled, "Innocence". Both of these plaques are worn. This one is hard to read, and the second one is impossible, for me. These are NOT originals. I believe that they are old reproduction paintings on board that were possibly sold as souvenirs in France. I haven't taken them apart, and they may not be oils, but they look like oils when I look through my loupe. They are in excellent condition, with the exception of the printing on the plaques. Each measures 4 inches wide, by 4&1/4 tall, and has a hook on the back for hanging. It was difficult to get photos without reflection from the glass, but they have lovely, unfaded color, and there is no damage.
