Circa 1920's, this is Smitty, star of the Smitty comic strip than ran from the early 1920's until 1973. He has the old style, bobble head where a thin cord runs from the top of his head. You can position his head any way you like. Many of the comic strip characters from the 1920's were made into these wonderfully detailed figurines. They were often referred to as nodders, or bobble heads, but they aren't loose like the later nodders and head bobbers that are generally associated with those terms. Impressed in the mold on his back is, "Smitty", and, "Germany". There are no chips, or cracks, but there is some paint loss, particularly to his blue jacket.
