This old, bisque tobacco jar is made in the image of a well dressed Black man, wearing a bow tie, and straw hat. The hat is the lid. As you can see in the photos, it's not perfect, but there are no repairs and no paint touch ups. Other than the obvious paint loss, the only damage is a slight "v" chip on the back rim of his head, and the damage to the rim of his hat. I've included a lot of photos that show every detail! This piece is about 7 inches tall, with the hat/lid on, and displays very well. There are no marks. Circa 1900-1920's.
I have several pieces of vintage Black Americana in my shop, and am happy to combine shipping and insurance on multiple purchases. To see them all, type "Black Americana" in the search box on the top of this page
