Every now and then, you'll see one of these ceramic planters that have survived the years. To find the pair is almost impossible. They are just adorable. I've seen them called, "condiment servers", and these may have been used for that because there are no signs of dirt, or crazing from moisture inside to indicate that they were used as planters. The girl has a couple of shallow dings, or glaze skips, on the hem of her dress. The boy's planter has a tight, old hairline crack that you can see in the last photo. Otherwise, both, in excellent condition, and display beautifully. They are 5 inches tall, by 5 inches wide, and are stamped on the bottom, "Made in Japan".
I have several pieces of vintage Black Americana in my shop, including other pottery, and am happy to combine shipping and insurance on multiple purchases. To see them all, type "Black Americana" in the search box on the top of this page
