Lovely, old, biscuit jar that has it's lid, and the original wicker handle. It's made of heavy pottery, weighing almost 2 pounds, before packing. The base color is pale yellow, and it has a hand painted design that goes all the way around the jar, and is also on the lid. On one side is a bird, and on the other is fruit. No chips, or cracks, but there are a few small flaws in the pottery, and crazing under the glaze, as is common. Displays well and functional, too! It's about 6 inches tall, and 6 inches in diameter. Stamped on the bottom is, "Made in Japan".
