Exceptional and rare set of 18 dinner size knives with French .950 sterling handles and the original steel blades. The pattern is Renaissance rocailles with angel mascarons at the tips. Made by Louis Lefebvre, 46 Boulevard du temple, active 1877 in Paris; condition is very good to excellent. Recently refurbished by a professional silversmith, the steel blades show some of the age related staining; but it is quite minor. The rocailles encircled cartouches bear a monogram: "SD". They come with a period box.
Dimensions: Each knife is 10" long and weighs 75 grams. Marks: .950 sterling guarantee, the Minerve 1st titre and the maker's punch for Louis Lefebvre.
