A very old hand patterned teapot from Russia, with the Moscow assay mark of Ivan Vasilyevich Avdeyev from 1852-1862 This solitaire sized pot has exquisite repousse borders: A finely textured band near the top of the pot is decorated with putto or cherubs, musical harps and floral swags. The base has a floral border and just beneath the lid there is a foliate border. The pot has a very heavy bone top knop and handle. Fully hallmarked, the teapot is in superb condition!
