This large footed food serving plate or platter is in perfect condition, rare in a piece from the late 19th century. The decoration quite attractive and colorful, all hand painted. On a turquoise ground we find flower blossoms with foliate accents in lilac and yellow. The edge has a greek key border. It has a lobed quatrefoil shape with a raised footed base. The markings on the bottom are blurred, Chinese symbols, that I am unable to make out. My research indicates that this piece is relatively rare. I have two, one offered separately in famille jaune, is not so pristine as this one. A beautiful, highly decorative piece of unusual quality, a rare piece to be sure.
Dimensions: 12" long, 9" wide and 2" high.
