Antique French Sterling Salt Cellars: Mistletoe Decoration!
How perfectly festive! A pair of French sterling silver salts, with hand blown glass liners, decorated beautifully with scads of repousse mistletoe, along with elegant curling strapping; a very Art Nouveau feel to the pair. Condition is good to very good. There is a small indentation on one of the cellars. They are lined with gold. And there are no monograms. You can still have them in plenty of time for Christmas, for your holiday table or a great gift. Yes, we can provide a gift bag!
Dimensions: the silver bodies are 2.5" long, 1.5" wide. They each weigh 15 grams. The liners are 2" long, 1 3/8" wide and 7/8" high. The blown glass is heavy, filled with bubbles; just lovely. Marks: both salt cellars boast the .950 sterling silver guarantee; the Minerve 1st titre. The maker's punch on ne salt is that of Henri Hage, active 1881. The other bears the punch of Charles hacker, active 1879. Hacker's also has a duty mark.
