This beautiful 18K Victorian brooch can also be worn as a pendant. It is in outstanding condition as the photos show with just a slight spot of wear to the enameling which can been seen under high magnification below the pearls on the narrow section of black enamel. It is dimensional as can be seen in the sideways photo which gives it an elegant effect. The center piece is enameled and set with seed pearls , a lovely contrast to the bright 18K gold. It is from a Portland, Maine estate and has been tested by Maine Gold and Silver and guaranteed to be 18K. It is not marked as the Standard Stamping Act was not passed requiring such until 1906. The brooch measures 1 and 1/4" in width by 1 and 5/8" in height and 1/2" in height. It weighs 6.2 grams on my jewelry scale. When worn as a pendant, the three points face down. When worn as a brooch, they face up. I have photographed it both ways to let you see how it can be worn. One can imagine how stunning this piece would be against black, either as a brooch or a pendant. It becomes a beautiful necklace with the addition of your favorite gold chain. It will make a lovely addition to your antique jewelry collection, or what a special gift for that special person who loves antique jewelry!
