What a gorgeous Victorian necklace in 18K and 22K from a Kennebunk, Maine estate. It is so difficult to find these wonderful estate items in today's world. Please spend time looking at the photos as they show the wonderful cobalt blue enameling on this necklace. The necklace itself consists of three 18K chains that can slide through the enamel buttons. I am assuming that the clasp has been replaced at some point in time, as it appears to be a newer clasp than would have been on this necklace originally. The necklace has been tested as 18K and 22K by Maine Gold and Silver of South Portland, Maine and guaranteed as such. The necklace measures a little over 15" with and additional drop of 4 and 1/4" to the end of the foxtail tassel. In addition to the foxtail tassel, there is an 1853 22K Liberty Head $1 gold piece attached to the drop to add a distinctive look to the necklace. It lays beautifully on the neck , as I have put it on to see how it fits. It is not tight and drapes beautifully. If you love fine, gold Victorian jewelry, this will make a wonderful addition to your collection. Need a special gift for a special person? This beautiful Victorian necklace should fit the bill!
