These beautiful English sterling sugar tongs are in outstanding condition with no wear. They are fully marked for London 1841, sterling with the duty mark for William IV. The tongs were made by Charles Lias and bear his mark as shown. They measure 5 and 3/8" in length and 1 and 3/8" at the widest point of the handle section. The monogram on the back of the handle reads J or G WL in script. Please note that there is no pitting on the handle; what you are seeing is a reflection from the lace and the underlying brown seat of a chair! The tongs are a beautiful piece of craftsmanship, in outstanding condition, ready to use or display.
