Virgil Begay was a master Navajo silversmith working his craft for over 25 years before his recent death. This beautiful sterling and turquoise ring is typical of his work. He specialized in cold chisel work and hand stampings. His rings were made so that they could be adjusted to fit a number of sizes. This lovely ring is currently a size 8 on my mandrel but can be sized down a little and upward quite a bit. The face of the ring measures 1" by 5/8". It is appropriate for woman or man. Please take a good look at the art work in it, the cold filings and hand stampings. It weighs 10 grams on my jewelry scales. Begay specialized in the old Fred Harvey style. The ring matches well one of his bracelets I have listed. Please take a good look at that bracelet as well to see the detailed work he was capable of. The ring is fully signed with his mark which guarantees it to be of Native American Navajo silverwork. He is fully listed in many books of Native American hallmarks including Gregory Schaff's epic three volumes. If you love quality craftsmanship, then this ring will make an important addition to your collection.
Gender: Unisex, Age Group: Adult, Color: silver/turquoise, Size: See description for sizes
