This beautiful large picture jasper ring is from an estate in Auburn, Maine and is set in sterling. I am calling it Navajo style because, though it is marked sterling, there is no artist signature on it. It definitely looks Native American in style with the hand twisted roping around the sides of the ring. The jasper is a large piece measuring 1 and 1/8" by 7/8", and it is quite thick as well, 1/8", which I have tried to show in the photos of the sides of the ring. The ring setting adds another 1/8" to its measurements. It is a lovely desert scene evoking the Southwest with a storm brewing. The ring is a size 7 and 1/4 on my ring mandrel and weighs 13.7 grams on my jewelry scale. It is shown on my hand for scale. It is in excellent condition with no cracks nor chips and no repairs. If you love the deserts of the American Southwest and Native American jewelry, this is a wonderful ring to add to your sterling jewelry collection.
