This diamond engagement and wedding ring set dates from the early 1950's and coms from a Lewiston, Maine estate. Both the engagement and wedding ring are marked 14k which I have tried to show in the photos. The diamond is rather small, typical for the post World War II era and is set to make the stone look larger than it is. It measures 2.5mm though looks much larger. There are two smaller cut diamonds on either side of the center stone. Using a 10x loupe I see no inclusions. The ring is both white and yellow gold. The white gold is intricately designed with applied millgrain beading which adds to the visual impact and feel of the ring. The wedding ring is also set with four small cut diamonds that match the placing of stones in the engagement ring and millgrain beading. At some point in their history the two rings have been conjoined, though a jeweler could perhaps separate them again. They are a size 7 on my mandrel. They have been professional cleaned, checked for safety and are ready to wear. Looking for a gift for a special person? This might do the trick!
