Here is a pretty deep red garnet and diamond pendant set in 14K gold. Garnet is the birthstone for January, but many people use it for July as well because of its red color instead of ruby. Garnets tend to be less expensive that natural rubies. This pendant is an estate piece, dates from the 1970's and came originally from Springer's Jewelers of Portland , Maine. It measures 5/8" from the top of the bale to the bottom and is a little over 1/4" in width. The diamond itself is also faceted as well as the garnet. All one needs to do is add a favorite gold chain. It would make a lovely gift for a special person or a nice addition to your vintage jewelry collection.
