What a stunning signed Alice Caviness brooch, probably made by Delizza and Elster based on its construction method. It is very large measuring 3" in length and 2 and 1/8" in width. The wonderful part is the fact that it is articulated by layers and moves when the person wearing it moves. One can see by looking at the back that it is constructed in three layers, the largest at the top. The layers are strung together by a ball chain, just the same way DeLizza and Elster strung Juliana pieces as shown in Karla Wacker's "Juliana: the Last Generation" reference book. It is in absolute mint condition; just look at the brilliant plating and the sparking rhinestones. The stones are clear looking at one angle and have a hint of black ice stones when the light hits them from a different angle. It is a gorgeous piece that can be worn as a brooch or as a necklace when you add your favorite gold necklace. It is fully signed Alice Caviness in a cartouche on the back as shown in the photos. I have taken closeups of the back so that you can see the construction that allows the piece to move as you move. It will make a stunning addition to a vintage jewelry collection and looks lovely both as a necklace or a brooch.
