What a gorgeous Art Deco synthetic alexandrite ring! The color is just wonderful with fire as the light hits it at angles. Synthetic Alexandrite was extremely popular in the Art Deco era up through the 1940's for its color and because natural alexandrite was just too small for rings and very rare. This is a beautiful estate ring in excellent condition with a lovely leaf design on the sides as well as the setting itself being reticulated. It measures 9 and 1/2, so it can be resized smaller by your jeweler if necessary. I always have a band insert used on my rings if they are too large so as not to change the original structure, but that is probably just the history teacher in me! The alexandrite is quite large measuring 1/2" by 5/8" with the entire face of the ring from leaf to leaf measuring 7/8". It is marked 14K and 585 inside of the bottom of the band. If you love the Art Deco era and alexandrite, then this ring will make a great addition to your vintage fine jewelry collection.
