An unusual circa 1920s or so Chimayo. The Chimayo is woven from thin wool with a fine tight weave and depicts a Native American Indian Chief, it could be from New Mexico or Mexico as these were woven in both locations. It is beautifully made and has thin fringe on the ends. Overall dimensions are 9 3/8" x 20 1/4" excluding the fringe. The Chimayo is in good overall condition. There are a few tiny moth holes and some losses to the fringe, the colors are still nice and bright. The Chimayo would be perfect in a Southwestern inspired decor or textile collection.
