c1860-1880s Gutta Percha Rope Twist Cane, Walking Stick
A neat antique (circa 1860-80s) Cane or walking Stick. The cane has a handle in the figural form of a knotted or rope twist. It looks like it is made from Gutta Percha, Thermaplast or a very early composition type material, the shaft is wood and the ferrel is horn. The cane is for a tall person at 35 1/4" high, it is 1 1/4" in diameter across the knob. The cane is in very good overall condition and has been well taken care of. There is a slight curve in the shaft, see photos. The Cane would be perfect in an antique fashion related collection.
